The Turning Point

1985

The Turning Point

In 1985, the retail business evolved into Solitaire Nabil Tawfik, marking a strategic shift in scale and offering. Multiple stores were consolidated into a larger space, allowing for a broader product range and a more refined retail experience.

1995

Entering the Wholesale Market

In 1995, Carats entered the wholesale market with the opening of an office in El-Hussein. This step extended the brand’s expertise beyond retail, supplying Egypt’s leading manufacturers and jewelry houses from Tanta to Alexandria.

Operating at this level required precision, reliability, and deep technical knowledge, qualities the family had refined over decades. The wholesale chapter strengthened Carats’ understanding of the industry from the inside out.

This period sharpened the brand’s operational discipline and reinforced its reputation among professionals, not just clients.

2008

In-House Manufacturing Begins

In 2008, Carats launched a small-scale manufacturing unit in Haret El-Yahoud. This marked a decisive move toward greater control over quality, production, and finishing.

Gold, diamonds, and bullion were produced under in-house oversight, allowing the brand to apply its standards directly to the making process. This step wasn’t about volume, it was about accountability.

By bringing manufacturing closer, Carats ensured that every piece reflected the same values the name had always stood for.

A legacy in every carat, since 1947
